About this event
Experience the breathtaking inaugural Clarens Festival of Lights from 24–26 September 2026 — a first-of-its-kind sustainable, eco-friendly light festival in the Maluti Mountains. This visionary three-day event illuminates Clarens with solar-powered light installations, awe-inspiring projection mapping on the iconic Titanic Rock, a magical lantern parade through the village streets, and a silent disco under the stars. The festival programme also includes glow-in-the-dark art workshops, campfire storytelling, a candlelight concert, neon tribal dance performances, and interactive light installations for all ages. Created in partnership with local schools and the community, the Festival of Lights has an educational focus on sustainability and environmental awareness. This inaugural edition is building the foundation for what promises to become a beloved annual tradition in the Eastern Free State.
