About this gallery

The Addy Hoyle Gallery is one of the original art galleries that helped establish Clarens as South Africa's premier art village. Founded in 1987 by accomplished South African artists Lyn Hoyle and Simon Addy, the gallery has been a cornerstone of the Clarens arts scene for nearly four decades. In 2001, Lyn and Simon built their own dedicated gallery space on the town square — a landmark destination that draws art lovers from across the country. The gallery showcases an ever-changing collection of original paintings by Lyn Hoyle, whose work captures the subtle light and textures of the South African landscape with warmth and precision, alongside the bold, expressive pieces by Simon Addy. Their daughter Nella also contributes to the family legacy. Every work on display is an original, making each visit a fresh experience. Located on the iconic Clarens square, the gallery is an essential stop on any visit to the village. Browse at your own pace in a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere — no pressure, just beautiful art in a beautiful setting.
