19 July 2015
Crime and violence statistics in South Africa remain disturbingly high with murders, assaults, rapes and other crimes being recorded each day.The town of Clarens in the Free State has not been spared from this wave. With an increasing number of tourists visiting this town and the ever expanding community, the need for concerted efforts in combating crime becomes key.The South African police service has of course positioned itself in this regard.
Fresh into her position with a burning desire to drastically reduce crime levels, station commander Lt Botha has set July 9 for a meeting with the community at NG Church Hall. This event will present the commander with the perfect opportunity to know those she serves. The commander will explain her role, functions and philosophy as well as those of the South African Police Service. Questions during this forum will be taken and addressed instantly.
This is definitely an occasion where you can bring your friends and neighbours along to learn and share more on issues of safety, security and relevant matters affecting the Clarens community.
