Carols by Candlelight is an annual Christmas tradition that traces its routes to southeastern Australia but has since spread across the world. This tradition involves people gathering outdoors or even indoors to sing carols by candlelight.
The town of Clarens has not been left behind in this age old tradition. Carols by candlelight are always a family favourite. Individuals, couples and families gather each year at NG Kerk which is on Main Street in Clarens to commemorate this event. On this night you get into the festive spirit and sing along to your favourite Christmas songs.
Guests while welcome to pack their own picnic basket with snacks and blankets, will also be able to buy food and drinks from vendors on the night. There will be plenty of entertainment on offer including a visit from Santa and his elves, buskers, a jumping castle and a light display. Guest will be encouraged to take along a toy to donate to charity, but there will also be toys on sale on the night.
Activities such as face painting, pony rides and a pet dress up competition will keep the kids entertained and and a gift wrapping service will ensure that there is no last minute panic about presents.
Carols by Candlelight is certainly something to look forward to.
